Hope, St John’s Traffic Proposals
Proposals (see below) have been drawn up to help reduce vehicle speeds passing through St Johns.
The scheme that highlights the speed limit of 30mph in both the north and southbound directions of the main Foxdale Road (A3) in the form of 30mph limit gateways. These include a localised area of red carriageway surfacing, signage and a white edge of carriageway line marking both sides of the road. The proposal also includes some edge of carriageway markings at the crossroads to slow vehicle speeds as drivers negotiate this junction.

Finishing Touches to Foxdale Scheme & Peel Regeneration
Resurfacing work is taking place this weekend in final preparation for the completion of works in Main Road, Foxdale on Wednesday 2 August. The plan below shows more detail.
Finishing touches to Peel’s regeneration include resurfacing in Market, Castle & Douglas Streets and the installation of artwork which should be complete in the 2 to 3 weeks.

Foxdale Post Office to stay open until New Year
The Foxdale post office has a reprieve until at least the New Year. The shop will undergo a refit in September. The long term survival of the Post Office will depend on how well it is used in the coming months.

Foxdale Roadworks
The main road through Higher Foxdale will close from today and subject to favourable conditions, the target for completion is an earlier date of Wednesday 2 August.
Extended hours, weekend working and the deployment of additional resources will be used to help achieve the revised finish date.
