Work improving the heritage trail between Douglas and Peel is due to start this week at the Peel end.

Funding to pump the Raggart leachate into the sewage works planned for Peel has been confirmed.

The sewage construction will also be timed with the reconstruction of the highway on East Quay in Peel.

The Treasury team are holding a public meeting at the Centenary Centre in Peel @ 7.30 pm on Wednesday 7 March to debate the budget.

The Credit Union Bill completes its final passage through Legislative Council and House of Keys and will now go for Royal Ascent. This is great news.

In the approved budget this week, finance has been set aside to improve the Heritage Trail, making it more accessible to everyone.

There is also money for our Glens and to promote Active Travel.

Good news for the QEII school as the budget gives approval for the STEM (Science Technology Engineering & Maths) Block.

Capital has also been set aside in the budget for a possible extension to Peel Medical Centre.

It is good news to see tax allowances further increased, and more money for health, schools and roads. Positive moves were made on pension freedoms.
