The Ground-Breaking ceremony took place on Friday 17th January 2020.
The event included meeting Mersey Marine, local & national businesses and a visit to the shipyards of Cammell Laird where both the Ben my Chree and the Manannan are serviced and where the only large scale ship building takes place in the British Isles, such as the Sir David Attenborough which was in dock.
Old pumps used the princess tides docks need to be removed.
Twenty metre deep shafts will provide challenges to the construction.
